Welcome to Jobseva ("we", "our", or "us"). Jobseva is developed and owned by Meritlife Technologies Pvt Ltd. Jobseva is a mobile application that serves as an intermediary platform connecting jobseekers with recruiters across India. We are an intermediary as defined under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and operate solely as a facilitator of job listings and candidate discovery.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

This policy is governed by the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, as applicable in India.

2. Nature of Platform and Disclaimer of Responsibility

Jobseva is a neutral, technology-based intermediary platform. We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or authenticity of any information provided by jobseekers or recruiters on this Platform.

Specifically, Jobseva expressly disclaims all responsibility for the authenticity, accuracy, or legality of recruiter job postings; jobseeker qualifications, credentials, background, or character; job application, interview, or employment outcomes; misrepresentation, fraud, or deception by users; recruiter hiring decisions; loss of employment, income, opportunity, or career damage; disputes between jobseekers and recruiters; and third-party content, links, or services accessible through the Platform.

Users are solely responsible for verifying the identity, credentials, and legitimacy of any other party they interact with through the Platform before engaging with them professionally or personally.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information Provided by You

Full name, email address, mobile number, and date of birth.
Professional details: resume, work experience, educational qualifications, skills, and certifications.
Profile photograph.
Location, such as city, state, or pincode, for job-matching purposes.
For recruiters: company name, designation, and job postings.
Login credentials, stored in encrypted form.
Any communication or feedback you send through the app.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access the Platform, we may automatically collect device information, log data, usage analytics, and crash reports for service improvement purposes.

3.3 Accuracy of Information

You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and truthfulness of all information you provide on the Platform. Jobseva does not verify user-submitted data and disclaims all liability arising from inaccurate, false, or misleading information provided by any user.

4. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and profile.
To match jobseekers with relevant job vacancies and recruiters with suitable candidates.
To send notifications about job postings, application updates, and platform announcements.
To improve and personalise the user experience on the Platform.
To respond to queries, complaints, or support requests.
To verify identity and prevent fraud or unauthorised access.
To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
To send promotional communications, which you may opt out of at any time.

5. Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information only in the following circumstances.

5.1 With Other Users

Jobseeker profiles are visible to registered recruiters. Recruiter details and job postings are visible to registered jobseekers. By creating a profile or posting a vacancy, you expressly consent to this visibility. Jobseva is not responsible for how other users use or misuse the information made available to them through the Platform.

5.2 With Service Providers

We may engage third-party vendors for hosting, analytics, messaging, and other operational purposes. These vendors are bound to handle data securely and not use it for independent purposes.

5.3 Legal Obligations

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.

5.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred to the successor entity under equivalent privacy protections.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Jobseva, its founders, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform; loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity; unauthorised access to or alteration of your personal data due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control; conduct or content of third parties; errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in job postings or candidate profiles; reliance placed on information published on the Platform; or technical failures, server outages, or interruptions in service.

In no event shall Jobseva's total aggregate liability to any user exceed the amount, if any, paid by the user to Jobseva in the three months preceding the claim. Where exclusions are not allowed, liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

7. No Warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Jobseva expressly disclaims warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted or error-free operation, suitability or quality of any job or candidate, and genuineness, currency, or legal compliance of job listings. Users access and use the Platform entirely at their own risk.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted password storage, HTTPS/TLS in transit, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Jobseva does not warrant or guarantee the absolute security of your data.

9. User Responsibilities and Indemnification

By using the Platform, you agree to provide only accurate, truthful, and lawful information; not use the Platform for illegal, fraudulent, or harmful purposes; not impersonate any person or entity; not post fake job listings or fraudulent candidate profiles; and conduct your own due diligence before engaging with any other user.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Jobseva and its founders, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform, your violation of this Policy, or your violation of any applicable law.

10. Your Rights

Access: request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion: you can request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time. To request deletion, email support@jobseva.app with subject "Account Deletion Request", including your registered email and phone number. We will process your request within 30 days. Withdrawal of Consent: withdraw consent for data processing at any time.
Opt-Out: unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time.

11. Data Retention

Active accounts: Personal data is retained for as long as your account remains active.
After deletion request: All personal data is deleted within 30 days of a verified account deletion request.
Legal and compliance exceptions: Invoicing, tax, and fraud-prevention records may be retained for up to 7 years as required under Indian law (Income Tax Act, GST regulations). Access to such retained data is strictly restricted.
Log and analytics data: Automatically deleted after 90 days.

12. Children's Privacy

Jobseva is intended for users aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be notified via the app or email. Continued use of the Platform after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Jobseva shall not be liable for any failure by users to review updated policies.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising in connection with this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Chennai, India. Users are encouraged to resolve any grievance through the contact mechanism provided below before initiating legal proceedings.
